BGA provides engineering and design services to Ethanol production industry. As a partner with the Distillation, Dehydration, and Evaporation (DD&E) vendor, BGA helped create the overall layout of the plant equipment, piping design, and pipe support arrangements. We were tasked with optimizing the equipment arrangement to minimize the overall footprint, decrease the length of piping required, and minimize the additional steel for supports. By utilizing 3D modeling software, stress analysis software, and sound engineering experience, BGA was able to significantly reduce the material costs for comparable sites. During the design process, we evaluated the equipment as a series of modules that could be rearranged and moved around depending on the space available at the owner’s site. This gave our client the ability to create a solution that worked within the owner’s requirements and maintained the quality of the product.

BGA is also able to offer construction support to our clients for this type of work. A team of personnel including designers and engineers traveled to the project site to directly support the piping installation. The team brought the 3D modeling software and the stress analysis software with them to offer real time answers as the pipe and supports were being installed. By working closely with our client, the piping installer, and the owner, we are able to facilitate rapid turn around and problem resolution to help complete the project in a timely fashion.
